ITAK Volume 3 Issue 2Official publication of the
This month's edition of ITAK will be in a little different format from prior issues. It was decided for this month to include a full series on the IAITAM Best Practice Library™ (IBPL). The IBPL was written for the advancement of the ITAM Profession. Our members spoke regarding their disappointment in other frameworks and matrixes currently available, as each of those provided a guide to what they needed, but many members were unaware on how to obtain the goals of the frameworks. Other members found it difficult to understand how other frameworks fit into IT Asset Management. IAITAM strives to provide not only knowledge to the ITAM Profession but also an understanding of the ITAM Profession. Many of have seen the BP2 which came out at the end of 2006. The BP2 was and remains an overview piece of each of the Key Process Areas as defined by IAITAM that compose a complete IT Asset Management Program. Although the BP2 is a stand alone overview guide of the each Key Process Areas separate from the IBPL, we have included the BP2 as a volume in the IBPL. We believe the material within the BP2 and its benefits warrant the inclusion within the library. The IBPL is a series of volumes that drills down into each of the Key Process Areas as defined by IAITAM, providing the “how” that is often left out of other frameworks. The IBPL is THE practitioner’s guide on IT Asset Management. This is the most complete guide available on the market, including over 4000 pages and hundreds of useable templates. IAITAM has been able to capture within the pages of the IBPL the knowledge to assist you in implementing a successful ITAM program therefore saving your organization thousands of dollars and man hours annually for years to come. |
