 IAITAM Recertification Program

 Return to Certifications

The IAITAM Recertification Program applies to all CITAM, CSAM and CHAMP certified professionals.  The program is built on a continuing education platform targeted to increasing the knowledge level of our certified professionals and to recognize personal achievements during the certifying year.

IAITAM has crafted its recertification program based not only on attending classes, but on achievements in your career.  These achievements may include speaking engagements, service to the association as well as recognition for accomplishments on the job.  Please see the Component List and Reporting Form for more details.

As a certified professional in IT Asset Management, you are recognized as a leader and professional, both within your organization and in our ITAM community.  You have differentiated yourself by acquiring industry specific education and are committed to continuing your professional growth.

You are well aware of the complexity of our chosen field and the state of industry flux that is occurring at this time.  For these reasons, IAITAM will continue to support your efforts by offering expanded opportunities for you to build on your education and to continue to receive recognition through recertification!

Here are some events that you can involve yourself in order to obtain Recertification:

  • IAITAM Annual Conference & Exhibition
  • IAITAM Certification Training
  • IAITAM Approved Conference
  • IAITAM Approved Certification Training
  • IAITAM Virtual/Instructor Led Training and Knowledge Briefings

Recertification submissions will be conducted twice a year – each December and June depending on your certification date.  All professionals certified more than one year should participate in the recertification event.

  • Response to expiration notices received early December are due back January 31, the following year, for end of year Recertifications
  • Response to expiration notices received early June are due back July 31, the following month, for mid-year Recertifications
  • A $50 processing fee is required for Recertification.
  • All certified professionals (certified by passing at least one IAITAM certification test) will receive a recertification letter with instructions
  • Recertification is awarded on a point system. Completed forms with supporting documents are required to qualify. Mail to:

Reciprocal Associations are those associations that accept IAITAM training towards their exclusive professional certifications, while IAITAM accepts the training of the reciprocal association towards IAITAM recertification.  Reciprocal Associations include:

NPMA - National Property Management Association

Founded more than 34 years ago, National Property Management Association is the largest association for asset management professionals in the country. NPMA strives to advance the profession of personal property and fixed-asset management by building leadership through education and training, and by promoting standards of competency and ethical behavior.

Now it’s up to you to continue to prioritize your professional growth and to put in place a plan to reach your goal of recertification each year!

The association remains available to you as a resource and as a place to exchange ideas.  IAITAM’s mission is to serve the profession and its members, to meet their needs and to stay abreast of the changing face of IT Asset Management as we know it today.
